Follicular Unit Transplantation (FUT) - "megasession®"

The follicular unit transplantation (FUT) is the first choice intervention for the thinning hairs and for the baldness. Devised in the 1982 by the Brazilian surgeon prof. Carlos Oscar Uebel consists in transferring single follicular units containing from 1 to 5 hairs from the nape area to the bald one of the same patient (=autotransplantation). The biological presupposition is the "genetic memory" of the nape hair, that does not fall wherever they are transplanted.

It demands 2 teams of specialists and 2 operating rooms: after to have harvested the follicular units from the nape area, a team selects them and the other inserts them in the bald scalp. How it is proceeded?
During the visit the specialist observed thinning and consistency of the hair, estimate the situation of the nape and established the number of hair who need to be transplanted. The rule, for replacing a middle-extent baldness it is sufficient one single "megasession®".

The next day the patient can wash the hair, controls they have executed after 3 and 8 days, and after 3 months.
The looked of the patient in the first days is nearly normal, the donor area appears like untouched. The patient can return to work after couple days.
